Grace for Class President – Let’s Make Med School Memorable Together!

Hey everyone,

I’m so excited to be running for Class President, and I’d love the chance to represent YOU as we navigate the next four years together. Med school is going to challenge us, inspire us, and (let’s be real) test our caffeine limits, but it should also be an amazing time filled with connection, support, and a little fun along the way – that’s what I want to bring to our class!

Putting Students First

At the heart of this role is making sure our voices are heard. I’ll keep an open line of communication with all of you, whether that’s through quick check-ins, group polls, group chats, social media, or just chatting between lectures, and take your ideas and concerns to faculty so we can actually see change where it matters. If there’s something that can make our lives easier (better study resources, smoother scheduling, more wellness supports, etc.), I’ll work hard to make it happen.

Keeping Us Connected

We’re a pretty amazing group, and I want to make sure we actually get to know each other beyond the lecture hall. I’d love to set up events we would all enjoy and like to be a part of, whether that be peer mentorship opportunities, study groups, and maybe even some fun academic or sports pool competitions, a little friendly rivalry never hurt anyone! On top of that, I’d like to bring in physicians and residents for casual Q&As so we can all start exploring different specialties early on.

Social Events to Look Forward To

Med school is busy, but we all need time to recharge. I would love to plan some social events that are easy to fit into our schedules but still fun; think trivia nights, potlucks, game/sports nights, hiking or other outdoor adventures in the city, and other socials where we can unwind and connect. And of course, I want to make sure we have bigger celebrations too if possible: holiday-related events, charity events, and an epic end-of-year party to celebrate surviving exams and MS1 together!

Merch, Because Who Doesn’t Love Merch?

Nothing says class pride like a cozy hoodie or a mug for your third coffee of the day. I’ll make sure we have chances to vote on merch designs that we like and that actually look good; hoodies, shirts, backpacks; hats; water bottles (because we all need another one of those lol), maybe even some fun anatomy-themed stickers for our laptops ;) The goal: affordable, high-quality merch that makes us all proud to represent the class of 2029!

At the end of the day, I want our time in med school to be more than just lectures and exams; I want us to feel supported, stay connected, and make memories that we’ll look back on forever. Most of all, I want all of our voices to be heard and considered when making this next year the best one yet!
