Rashi Ramchandani
Hi Everyone,
Congrats on making it to our final year — we’re almost there! Fourth year is an exciting, fast-moving, and sometimes overwhelming time. As we wrap up electives, prep for CaRMS, and think about the next chapter, I’d be honoured to support you as your Anglophone Class President.
Some of you may remember my platform from first, second and third year: it was all about YOU. That hasn’t changed. But our needs have — so here’s what YOU means now.
Y – Your Journey, Your Voice
• Advocacy for a smooth final year: I’ll continue raising student concerns with faculty and admin, especially around CaRMS, the AFMC portal, home and visiting electives, and match stress. Whether it's interview scheduling conflicts or needing clarity on deadlines, I’ll push for transparency and solutions.
• Graduation & Match Day: I’ll advocate for student-focused policies, like a blackout day before Match Day, and help celebrate our success - from being introduced as “Dr. X” at graduation to creating a Match slideshow and a channel to stay connected no matter where we go.
O – One Cohort, One Goal
• Support During Electives: With many of us away for electives, I’ll work to keep our class connected — by setting up a platform to sublet housing and link students rotating in the same cities, so no one feels isolated while away from Ottawa.
• Celebrate milestones together: From match day to graduation planning, I’ll make sure we have committees set up to ensure we celebrate all our milestones this year (pre-match day, post-match day and graduation)
U – Unity and Understanding
• Check-ins that matter: I’ll run brief check-ins (not constant surveys!) to hear what’s working, what’s not, and what you’d like changed. If it affects your learning or wellbeing, I’ll bring it forward.
• Advocacy for fairness in clinical experiences: Whether it’s an elective site with poor supervision or a mismatch in learning opportunities, I’ll speak up and follow up.
I’ve served as your class president before. I know the system, I know how to advocate effectively, and I care deeply about making our final year smooth, supportive, and memorable. If elected again, I’ll bring the same energy, accountability, and commitment — just with more experience and perspective.
