Hey everyone!
I’m Andrew, and I’m running to be your class president with two priorities: approachability and transparency. I want you to feel comfortable telling me what matters to you and confident that you’ll know what I’m doing about it.

Easy to reach and ready to listen.
Whether we talk every day or haven’t met yet, I want you to feel comfortable coming to me. If something is frustrating you, you have an idea, or you’re unsure whether a concern is worth raising, I’m here to listen. Come talk to me whenever, send me a message, or an email. You don’t need to have the right words or a solution figured out. Remember that I’m your classmate, navigating medical school alongside you, and I’ll take the time to understand what matters to you and how I can help.

You’ll know what I’m working on.
I’ll share brief, regular updates covering what I’m working on, which concerns I’ve brought forward, and what happens next. I will also create a progress list that will let you see a roadmap of everything that’s been resolved, underway, and still pending.

To me, transparency also means being honest when progress is slow or a request can’t be met. I will make sure to explain the obstacles, keep following up, and explore alternatives. You should feel comfortable asking about a decision or questioning a priority.

Your concerns will shape the agenda.
Within my first two weeks, I’ll ask what’s working, what’s making your life harder, and what you’d most like to see change. Your answers will help determine our initial priorities. I’ll invite input before faculty meetings and keep an anonymous feedback option available throughout the year.

I’ll also make an effort to connect with classmates I haven’t gotten to know yet.
Concerns affecting a smaller group deserve attention too. Through faculty meetings and collaboration with our representatives, I’ll advocate on academic and non-academic issues and make sure you hear back about what follows.

Making everyday life easier.
I’ll work with our representatives to address practical frustrations. I will help keep useful academic resources, key contacts, and upcoming opportunities easy to find. Your time matters, and getting the information or support you need should feel straightforward.

A class we build together.
I’ll work with our representatives to support affordable, optional activities based on what you actually want: walks, casual sports, games, or a relaxed hangout after an exam. Different schedules, budgets, and interests should help shape our plans.

As a French speaker in the English stream, I’d enjoy working closely with our Francophone co-president to help both streams connect.

I want us to build a class where we share resources and feel comfortable speaking up when something is difficult. My commitment is straightforward: I’ll be approachable, I’ll keep you informed, and I’ll follow through on the concerns you trust me to represent.
