Hey everyone! My name is Neeharika and I am running for the MD Class of 2030 English Cohort President. The way I see it, each and every one of you deserves someone who will listen, represent, and advocate for you, and my aim is to do just that.

We have a long journey ahead of us, and I want to help make our time together as supportive and inclusive as possible. As president, and as the liaison between our class and the administration, I aim to support YOU, advocate for YOUR concerns, and make sure YOUR voices are heard. I also aim to bring your concerns forward and advocate for what is best for our MD Class of 2030 as a whole. In doing so, I want each of you to feel like you belong and feel comfortable approaching me with your feedback and needs.

If you are wondering why you should vote for me, hopefully my past experience will help convince you! Over the last few years, I have had many opportunities to represent and advocate for my peers. In high school, I was Co-President of Student Council, where I worked with students and administrative staff to organize events and represent the student body.

Additionally, during my undergrad at uOttawa, I was one of the First-Year Representatives of the Science Students’ Association (SSA), where I represented first-year students in the Faculty of Science, addressed their concerns, and helped organize events that promoted student well-being. The following year, I was the VP of Promotions on the SSA, where I gained experience promoting events and preparing and sending monthly newsletters to my peers. Then in my final year, I was the Social Media Coordinator on the SSA, where I managed all social media accounts and addressed many student questions and concerns.

These experiences have contributed to my desire to represent our class and have taught me that being a good representative means listening, communicating, following through, and making sure people feel heard.
