I’m super excited to apply for VP Social and to have the opportunity to create fun and memorable experiences outside of the classroom! If elected, I would love to elevate Orientation Week and keep it legendary—after all, we have the longest med school O-Week in the country! My goal is to incorporate ideas and feedback from everyone to make sure our incoming students have an unforgettable experience (which, let’s be real, they will—with our class as group leaders, we rock). Beyond Orientation, I plan to continue organizing post-exam outings like this year, while also incorporating more outdoor activities that take advantage of Ottawa’s incredible nature. And of course, the iconic Mont Tremblant trip will be executed to perfection! I bring high energy and positivity everywhere I go, and as VP Social, I’d be committed to creating an inclusive, welcoming, and fun environment for all. I also want to implement anonymous feedback forms to ensure that student voices are heard when planning events. In addition, I would love to elevate the UOMed social media game to hype our events up on all platforms! Coming from an athletic background, I served as team captain for two years at Florida State University, where one of my favorite responsibilities was organizing team events and fostering a strong sense of community. I hope to bring the same energy and cohesion to our class, including planning more events that bring together both the English and French streams outside the classroom.
